On Thursday, June 22, 2023, RCMP released the names of the deceased in the Highway 1 collision near Carberry on June 15, 2023.
A collision between a bus and a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 5 claimed the lives of 15 seniors and set ten other people to hospital. A sixteenth person succumbed to her injuries earlier this week.
The group on the bus had been travelling from Dauphin, Manitoba to Sand Hills Casino near Carberry when the tragedy occurred.
RCMP held a ceremony in Dauphin on Thursday afternoon where pictures of the 16 victims who lost their lives were displayed and their names were shared with the public for the first time.
Those who lost their lives in the collision were:

- Dianne Medwid, 70

- Donna Showdra, 79
- Lillian Stobbe, 73
- Patsy Zamrykut, 88
