Selkirk RCMP have arrested a 24-year-old male in connection to a Young Avenue break and enter early Saturday morning, June 6, 2020.
As officers arrived they spotted the suspect fleeing the scene on foot. He was arrested without incident.
Officers found the suspect’s vehicle nearby and a search of it uncovered a loaded 9 millimetre handgun.
Shayden Tavares has been charged for his alleged involvement with a number of criminal offences including Breaking and Entering with intent, Possession of a prohibited weapon, Possess weapon contrary to order.
He was remanded into custody.
RCMP continue to investigate.
