RCMP Cst Erik Grimolfson will be facing criminal charges in provincial court in early June, 2022, after being charged following two separate IIU investigations.
In July of 2021, the IIU began an investigation after the RCMP received an allegation that a person had been assaulted in Selkirk by an on-duty officer. The investigation determined that there were grounds for criminal charges to be laid against the officer.
In November 2021, the IIU began an investigation into a vehicle collision that happened on Mayfair Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Way involving an off-duty RCMP officer.
