Thompson RCMP Constable Greg Oke is facing one count of assault after he allegedly punched a male bystander several times in the face during a call.

According to the Independent Investigation Unit on September 12, 2018 two officers in Thompson responded to a call about an intoxicated female. While dealing with the female the officers became involved in an altercation with the male.

The IIU investigated and the Civilian Director, Zane Tessler, has determined there are reasonable grounds to believe a criminal offence occurred.

Oke will appear in a Thompson court in August.
