An RCMP officer from The Pas, who was transporting a prisoner, crashed into a pole in the parking lot of a Fisher Avenue business around 4:30 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
Police say that after the collision the officer provided first aid to the 51-year-old male prisoner. The male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The officer also suffered injuries. He was taken to hospital, treated and released.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba was notified of the collision. An RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.
