The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) has charged an RCMP officer involved in an alleged excessive force incident at the Winnipeg James Richardson International Airport on August 1, 2019.
Following an investigation by the IIU the civilian director believes there are reasonable grounds to believe a criminal offence occurred.
Cst Eric Gerein has been issued a summons to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court for assault on September 26, 2022.
