RCMP Major Crime Services has arrested a 28-year-old man in connection to a homicide in Emerson, Manitoba on March 1, 2024.

Police say that officers were called to a residence on 2nd Street in the community for the report of a dead 48-year-old man. Officers determined the death was the result of a homicide.

Investigators with the Major Crime Services unit were quickly able to determine that the death was an isolated incident and there was no risk to public safety. Police say that the victim and suspect were known to each other prior to the incident.

On Sunday March 3 Ryan Wiens of Steinbach was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder. He was detained in custody.
