Around 3:oo am on Monday, May 8, 2023, video surveillance at a home on Liss Road in the RMof St. Andrews caught two individuals walking up the driveway and pouring what is believed to be accelerant onto two parked vehicles. The security footage also shows one of the individuals lighting the liquid on fire before both suspects fled in a truck.
Around 4:00 am the residents of the home were woken up by three people who came across the fire. The trio knocked on the front door and a bathroom window in an effort to alert the family inside.
Two adults and three children were able to safely get out of the residence.
Police and fire were called and prior to their arrival the homeowner and a neighbour were able to drag the cars away from the home to prevent fire from spreading to the house and garage.
