On June 24, 2020, RCMP received a report that human remains had been found near Baker Street in Portage la Prairie.
Police along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continued with the investigation and have determined it was a homicide.

The identity of the victim is unknown and investigators are asking for help in identifying him.
The victim is described as a male between the ages of 20 and 40. His height was between 5’7″ to 6’2″. He had scoliosis of the spine (curvature of the spine). His hair was brown and he possibly had a medium build.
