RCMP are looking for a 23-year-old male in connection to two violent assaults in Nelson House.
Police say that on April 4, 2022, they received a report that a male had been severely assaulted. When officers arrived at the location they located the victim suffering serious injuries. The male was taken to the nursing station.
Police say in that incident a 29-year-old male had been working in his yard when he was approached and assaulted with what is believed to have been a machete
While at the nursing station the officers were told about a second man who had been assaulted. The 23-year-old male victim had been outside a local business when he was assaulted.
Police identified the suspect in both incidents as Jerome Wood, 23 , from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. Warrants have been issued for his arrest. Police say he is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Aggravated Assault and Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
Woods is described as 5’9″ tall, 132 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
