RCMP looking carjacker and stolen vehicle

An Elie man is recovering from injuries he sustained after he was attacked by a carjacker.

RCMP say that on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2020, an adult male showed up to a home in Elie and told the homeowner that he needed a boost after his vehicle had broken down.

The male homeowner agreed to help the man and the two of them began to drive to the broken down vehicle.

As the pair drove the carjacker attacked the driver and forced him out of the vehicle then stole it and drove off.

RCMP say the victim suffered minor injuries during the carjacking.

Police are looking for the suspect who is described as 5’10”, 170 lbs, with short black hair and a possible deformed lower lip. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans at the time of the attack.

The suspect made off with a red 2014 Ford F150-XLT with Manitoba licence plate # EMV 397.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call 204-888-0358 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
