Police dog tracks stolen vehicle suspects

RCMP are praising the work of one of their own in tracking down three suspects in the bush near Falcon Lake.

Enzo, a Police Service Dog, was called to the scene of a stolen pickup truck late last night May 2, 2018.

The dog and handler quickly found the track of two of the suspects after arriving on the scene. The pair followed the scent for close to two kilometres and located a 36-year-old male and a 35-year-old male hiding under a tree. The suspects were arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property.

The incident wasn’t over for Enzo, as the suspects were put into a police cruiser he located another track. Soon another male was located, this time hiding in long grass. Police arrested and charged the 26-year-old male with Possession of Stolen Property.

An 18-year old female was also arrested when officers first arrived on the scene she was also charged with Possession of Stolen Property.

The 35 and 36-year-olds were also wanted on a number of outstanding warrants from the Winnipeg Police Service.

For his part, Enzo once again earned his keep and added to his long record of finding suspect trying to evade capture.
