RCMP are investigating after a five-year-old girl died in the community of Brochet.

Police say that around 7:45 pm on May 31, 2023, officers were called to the community after the girl was found dead. She had wandered away from her home.

The family searched for the youth an located her in a lake near her home. She was taken to the nursing station where she was pronounced deceased

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
