Just before 2:00 am this morning, February 6, 2020, RCMP in Swan River were called to 9th Avenue South for a report of a disturbance and possible gunshot.
Swan River is about 487 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg
When officers arrived they found a 25-year-old male from the community suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.
The injuries were not life-threatening and the victim was taken to hospital.
A police dog was brought in and was able to locate a firearm in the area of the shooting.
RCMP are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call 204-734-4686.
