RCMP have identified the remains that were found in Stead, Manitoba on July 18, 2021. They have confirmed they belong to 40-year-old Clifford Joseph who has been missing and presumed killed since early June.
Clifford had been last seen leaving his home in the RM of St. Clements on June 7, 2021. Police treated the disappearance as a homicide and early on in the investigation considered Joseph’s neighbour, Eric Wildman, as a suspect in his death.

Wildman was the subject of a Manhunt in June that led police across southern Manitoba. Wildman was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police near Belleville, Ontario several days after the manhunt began. He was returned to Winnipeg.
No arrests have been made in connection to Joseph’s death.
RCMP continue to investigate.
