RCMP say that charges are pending against the 22-year-old driver of a semi-truck that crashed into a police cruiser that was parked on the side of the road with the emergency lights on.
It happened just before 7:30 am on Thursday morning February 21, 2019. According to RCMP, the officer had parked his cruiser on the side of the Trans-Canada in Headingley to check on the occupants of a semi-truck that had been involved in a collision earlier in the day.
As the officer was sitting in his cruiser it was hit from behind by a passing semi.
No one was injured but the vehicle suffered significant damage.
The driver of the truck is facing possible charges under the Highway Traffic Act say police.
