RCMP charged with driving offences in September 2021 collision

A collision between a police patrol unit being driven by an on-duty RCMP officer and a civilian vehicle on September 10, 2021, prompted an investigation by the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU).

The IIU said that the collision happened around 6:36 pm and that two people from the other vehicle sustained serious injuries.

After an extensive investigation Cst. Jean Christophe Martin was issued a summons to appear in provincial court for two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to answer to the charges on March 22, 2022 in St-Pierre-Jolys provincial court.
