RCMP charge six inmates in two separate Stony Mountain Institution stabbings

Around 3:30 pm on Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2020, RCMP were called to Stony Mountain Institution after two inmates were stabbed.

The victims, a 24-year-old male and a 45-year-old male were taken to hospital with what police describe as significant injuries.

The stabbings occurred in separate incidents on two different ranges within the maximum security wing of the prison.

Dennis McLeod, 25 and Anthony Mitchell,28 have both been charged with Attempted Murder for their alleged involvement in the stabbing of the 24-year-old inmate.

Tyler Gray, 39 is facing Attempted Murder charges for his alleged involvement in the stabbing of the 45-year-old inmate. Three other inmates, Skyler Cook, 25, Brandon Seenie, 22 and Michael Kelly, 25 have been charged for their alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault.

The investigation both incidents is ongoing.
