RCMP have nabbed a 55-year-old male for impersonating a police officer.

Police say that on July 7, 2021 they received a report that a man on Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation was in possession of restricted weapons and was driving in the community in a former police vehicle that had an emergency light bar on the roof.

Officers then learned the suspect had driven to a community COVID-19 check-up in the vehicle and told the attendants that he would be conducting patrols.
