Two from Winnipeg and one from BC Arrested
Last Thursday, March 2, 2017 RCMP stopped a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Carberry. The 2017 Dodge Durango was travelling 150 km/h in a 100 km/h zone at the time police pulled it over.
Police found Marihuana in the vehicle and more than $200,000.00 in cash.

RCMP Inspector Ed Moreland, who is in command of Traffic Service in Manitoba said, “Attempting to transport proceeds of crime on our roadways is a costly proposition. Proceeds gained from criminal acts have no safe passage in Manitoba as we will enforce the laws to the fullest extent.”
Justin Poitras, 28 and Lea Murrell, 30, both from Winnipeg and Darren Gurniak, 50, from Port Coquitlam, BC have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada for their alleged involvement.
Police continue to investigate.
