A significant breakthrough was made by the Lac du Bonnet Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on April 15, 2024, as they executed a search warrant at a residence on Aspit Road in the RM of Lac du Bonnet. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into several break-ins in the area.
The search led to the recovery of stolen property, marking a significant step towards solving the recent spate of burglaries. In addition to the recovered items, the RCMP also seized approximately 70 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 6 grams of cocaine, and other drug-related paraphernalia, indicating a potential link to drug trafficking.
David Wagner, a 45-year-old Winnipeg resident, was arrested in connection with the case. He has been remanded into custody on charges of two counts of Break and Enter. As the investigation progresses, further charges are anticipated.
