2 charged with multiple drug related offences

RCMP executed a warrant on a home in Virden, Manitoba under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on February 3, 2017.

Police found a number of illegal substances in the residence including cocaine, crack cocaine, mushrooms and marihuana. They also seized drug paraphernalia, a gun, a knife, cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two people were taken into custody and charged for their alleged involvement.

Jenna Mallette, 22, and Kasey Packham, 26, both from Virden have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x2.

Both Mallette and Packham were released from custody on a promise to appear at an upcoming court date.

RCMP officers are continuing to investigate.
