RCMP arrest three teens in connection to armed robbery

Three males in their teens were arrested after an armed robbery in Grunthal say RCMP.

On Saturday,December 19, 2020, three males, one armed with a handgun, walked into a gas station in Grunthal and stole the cash register. The trio of robbers then fled on foot. Grunthal is about 70 kilometres southeast of Winnipeg.

A couple of hours later RCMP learned that Winnipeg Police were searching an area near Highway 1 and Highway 12 for a vehicle with armed robbery suspects that matched the description of the Grunthal robbers.

RCMP joined Winnipeg Police in conducting patrols of the area but the vehicle could not be located.

On Sunday investigators arrested a 19-year-old male from Hanover for the robbery. The vehicle was found on a rural property in the RM of Hanover and seized with the investigation continued.

RCMP also arrested two 17-year-old males, one from the RM of Hanover the other from Steinbach. A fourth suspect is still the subject of a search.

RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service continue to investigate.
