RCMP searching for a group of males involved in a home invasion in Thompson on December 24, 2023.
According to investigators a group of four to five males forced their way into an Elm Street home around shortly after 1:00 am.
Officers responded and found the residence empty when they arrived but found obvious signs of a struggle and blood throughout. Soon afterwards a 35-year-old male who lived in the home was encountered by officers as he returned to the residence. He was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics took the male to hospital in critical condition.
Police say that the male victim was at the home along with the female owner and six children when the home invasion occurred. As the male victim attempted to get the children to another room for safety he was assaulted and stabbed. Following the attack he walked the children to a nearby residence before returning to the Elm Street home where he met police.
RCMP believe that the suspects are possibly youths or young adults. They were dressed in all black and wearing masks. Police believe the suspects were driving a black pick-up truck. Investigators say that believe that the house was targeted specifically.
