Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged 20-year-old Mahfuthmm Assi for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder and Attempted to Commit Murder in connection to the homicide at the Ramallah Café on Monday night, April 15, 2019.
Police say that just after 11:00 pm they were called to the café and hookah lounge for a report that two men had been stabbed. One of the men was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died, the other was taken to hospital in
Investigators have identified the victim who died as Yazan Alhorani, a 20-year-old Winnipeg resident.
Police say that an argument escalated to a physical fight. During the fight the victims were stabbed.
The suspect was arrested the next day, April 16, 2019 by the Ontario Provincial Police east of Kenora. He was returned to Winnipeg to face charges.
