The Province of Manitoba announced that Rainbow Stage (1993) Inc. was prosecuted for a 2017 accident that caused an amputation and significant injuries to an employee’s hand.
On June 12, 2017 the worker was building a prop desk and while using a table without the guard in place the wood began to bind. The worker hit the stop button but their hand came in contact with the saw blade.
Rainbow Stage was fined $14,950 for violations of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and associated regulations. They also received an additional fine of $1,250 that will be used to educate on occupational safety and health.
