Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Winnipeg and most of Southeastern Manitoba. Rain mixed with snow is expected to dump significant amounts of precipitation in the Red River Valley to the Ontario border.
According to the national forecaster a low pressure system will move into the area on Monday and hang around until later Tuesday bringing with it fain followed by snow.
Although it is uncertain the amounts of rain and snow that will fall, early indications predict that Winnipeg could receive 5-10 mm of rain and 10-15 cm of snow.
