Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged two suspects in connection to five strong-arm robberies on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Investigators say that around 7:15 am on September 3, 2019 a female in her 20s was approached in the 900 block of Sherbrook Street by a male suspect. The man indicated he had a gun. The woman tried to flee but fell and she was robbed of her purse and cell phone. Police say she was’t injured.

The next day around 7:45 am a woman in her 50s was approached by a male on Pacific Avenue who grabbed her purse. The suspect pulled out a gun and fled with the purse.

A couple of hours later, around 9:40 am, a female in her 40s was assaulted as a male tried to steal her purse. The woman struggled with the suspect but was knocked to the ground a dragged a short distance before the man got away with her property. The woman was not seriously injured.

Later that same night a male and a female in their 40s were leaving a home in the 400 block of William Avenue when a man rushed them and grabber the female’s purse. The suspect then pulled out a knife and began slashing at the victims hands. The suspect took off with the purse. The victims were taken to hospital and were treated for extensive wounds to their hands.

Investigators identified two suspects in the cases. Walter Fidel Flett, 24 and Megan Singleton, 24 were arrested for their alleged involvement. They both face a number of charges related to the robberies.

Both were detained in custody.
