The Public Utilities Board (PUB) announced on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, that they have approved a $58 million payout to Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) ratepayers.
MPI had asked the panel for approval of the rebate in mid-April.
PUB held virtual hearings on the matter due to COVID-19 on April 29 and April 30, 2020.
Under their orders, MPI must issue payment to ratepayers by May 31, 2020, who had insurance policies in force on March 15, 2020.
