Public Health reports third death related to COVID-19, 13 new cases identified

Manitoba Public Health announced on Tuesday April 7, 2020, that a third person has died due to COVID-19. The vicim was a man in 60s from Winnipeg. Officials say that the man underlying medical conditions.

13 additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified bringing the total laboratory-cofirmed and probable positive cases to 217.

12 people are currently in hospital with six of those being treated in intensive care.

As of today 21 people have recovered from COVID-19.

On Monday Cadham Provincial Laboratory completed 781 tests bringing the total number of people tested to 14,280 since testing began in February.

Public Health officials continue tell people to stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to go out. Group gatherings should be avoided including Easter or Passover celebrations. Maintaining social distancing and staying home are the only ways to slow the spread and flatten the curve of COVID-19.
