Public Health orders continue to be ignored by some Manitobans

Manitoba reported the between February 1 and February 7, 202, enforcement officers issued a number of tickets and warnings to individuals and businesses who were not following the public health order restrictions.

99 warnings were given out and 39 tickets were issued including:

  • 31 $1,296 tickets to individuals
  • Six $298 tickets for failing to wear a mask in indoor public places.
  • One ticket for $5,000 was issued to a business
  • One ticket for $1,750 issued to an individual not following the Federal Quarantine Act.

Enforcement officials say that of the 31 tickets issued to individuals 25 were related to gatherings in private residences or outdoors.

Manitobans are encouraged to continue to report compliance and enforcement issues by completing the online reporting form or calling (204) 945-3744.

Since enforcement began in April 2020, $1.3 million in fines have been issues to individuals and businesses.
