Finance Minister Scott Fielding announced today that the Manitoba government will table their budget on Wednesday April 7, 2021.
In the province’s most recent fiscal update in December 2020, a deficit projection just over $2 billion was forecast by the end of March 2021.
“As we finalize our fiscal plan for the year ahead, we thank all Manitobans who participated in our public engagement process to identify their priorities and help shape this budget,” said Fielding.

According to government more than 51,000 Manitobans participated in the budget consultation process through telephone town halls, virtual meetings, an online survey and direct email and written submissions.
“Our budget engagement process was completely virtual this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, as we offered several options for Manitobans to provide their input,” said Fielding. “More Manitobans than ever before participated in 2021 provincial budget consultations and provided valuable feedback on what’s most important to them.”
The online survey indicated that 73 per cent of respondents identified improving health care as a priority. 57 per cent want the province to focus on getting COVID-19 vaccine to Manitobans as the highest priority for provincial health spending.
