Province to spend more than $50M on improvements to Highway 75

On Friday, June 19, 2020, the Manitoba government committed to spending more than $50 million this year on improvements to Highway 75 between Winnipeg and the United States border.

“Highway 75 is a major north–south corridor that supports significant international trade,” said Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler . “Investing in our highways supports economic growth and will have a positive impact on Manitoba’s economy for years to come.”

Several projects will be worked on over the summer including the reconstruction of the northbound lanes from the border to Provincial Road 243. Intersection improvements at PR 243 including reconstructing PR 200 east of Highway 75 are also under way.

Culvert replacement, Concrete repair and reconstruction is also underway on parts of Highway 75.

The province had previously announced that they will also be paving PR 246 from PTH 23 near Morris to PR 205 near Aubigny. This improved road will be used to reroute around sections of Highway 75 that are most prone to flooding.
