If you are among the 170 thousand Manitobans who use a chiropractor your health care just got more expensive as the provincial government makes cuts to front line services, something they promised not to do.
Effective June 1, 2017 Manitoba Health has slashed funding to the tune of $4.8 million that allowed Manitobans to seek chiropractic care for up to 12 visits a year. The new structure drops the amount of visits to 7 per year and the amount they cover also dropped from $12.30 per visit to $8.29 per visit.
For low income earners who suffer from back pain the reduction of chiropractic care will force them back into the over taxed emergency rooms in the province.
