Province gives Bold Commerce funding for employee training

Manitoba is investing more than $144,100 in one of the province’s top tech companies.

Bold Commerce has grown to more than 350 employees since its inception seven years ago. The tech company provides customizable commerce solutions for retailers. Bold is a Winnipeg based company with over 90,000 customers.

“Bold Commerce is a thriving company that has recognized the need to stay competitive by adding staff and boosting the skills of its existing employees,” said Economic Development and Training Minister Ralph Eichler .  “The goal is to add hundreds of new jobs, while ensuring it and the company’s nearly 350 current employees have the tools and training to provide the best e-commerce solutions here and around the world.  A skilled workforce is essential for continued growth and to remain competitive on a global scale.  Like Bold Commerce, our government is confident in the future of our province and our people, and we appreciate its reinvestment in Manitoba.”

In September of this year, Bold was ranked 12th on Canadian Business’ ranking of Canada’s fastest-growing companies.

“With our rapid growth, we’re bringing on as many as 20 new employees each month.  As we scale our business, this funding will allow us to provide the best training for our employees, who together will help us build the best company,” said Chantal Grindle, chief human resources officer, Bold Commerce.

The province says that Bold expects to hire 400 people over the next two-and-a-half years.
