Classes were cancelled in seven buildings at the University of Manitoba on Monday, April 2, 2018, after a power outage at the Fort Garry campus.
The outage began on Sunday, April 1, 2018, and involved more than a dozen buildings on the south Winnipeg campus.
The university says that buildings still affected by the outage are:
- Helen Glass Building
- Biological Building
- Fitzgerald Building
- Wallace Building
- Education Building
- St. John’s College and Residence
- St. Paul’s College
Although the cause of the outage is not known university officials say that they expect the power to return later in the day and classes to resume on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, as normal.
A posting on the university website says that students in the residence have been moved to other accommodations during the power outage.
