RCMP have arrested two adult males and a male teen in connection to a carjacking in Portage la Prairie on Saturday night, July16, 2022.
Police say an adult female was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of a Portage la Prairie business when a male wearing a balaclava opened her door, showed her a knife and ordered her out of the vehicle.
The woman got out of the vehicle as the suspect and two other males got into it and fled.
Officers later discovered the vehicle in Oak Bluff but the vehicle refused to stop for officers and continued into Winnipeg along McGillivray Boulevard. The trio of suspects abandoned the vehicle on McGillvray and fled on foot.
RCMP Police Dog Services with help from Winnipeg Police Service located the three suspects and took them into custody.
A 15-year-old male from Brandon was charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Disguised with Intent to Commit Offence, four counts of Fail to Comply and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
19-year-old Dorian Myelin of Portage la Prairie has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery and Failing to Comply.
24-year-old Rishawn Assiniboine of Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery.
All three accused were detained in custody.
