On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, News 4 told you about a shooting that happened on Poplar Bay in Portage la Prairie. A 26-year-old male suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the shooting police said they did not believe the shooting was random but rather the victim had been targeted.

RCMP have arrested a 20-year-old male in connection with the shooting
Harrison Duncan Beaulieu, from Portage la Prairie, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Attempted Murder, Discharge Firearm with Intent and various other firearm related offences.
He was remanded into custody
