The Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) is warning the public that Apay Ogouk, 33 , will be released from prison in Alberta, Ogouk is a convicted sex offender who is considered at risk to re‑offend in a sexual manner against all females, both children and adults.
Police expect that Ogouk will be moving to Winnipeg after he is released today. He had been serving a sentence for three counts of aggravated sexual assault.
As part of his release Ogouk is prohibited from owning or possessing any weapons for the rest of his life.
Ogouk was originally arrested and detained in 2010. On May 23, 2014, he was convicted in Calgary, Alberta of two counts of aggravated sexual assault and was sentenced to five years (which included credit for pre-sentence custody). When that sentence was completed, Apay OGOUK was transferred to Manitoba where he was convicted of three additional counts of aggravated sexual assault on December 11, 2014, and received an additional prison term.
Police say that although Ogouk participated in some treatment while in custody he is still considered at risk to re-offend in a sexual manner and advise that all females are at risk.
