Police shoot male attacking two people he lived with

Winnipeg Police shot a male who was attacking two people at a Charleswood home.

Police say they received several 911 calls around 4:45 am on Tuesday March 10, 2020, about a disturbance between several people who lived at a residence in the 100 block of Kowaisky Crescent.

When officers arrived at the home a 27-year-old male was actively assaulting two other adults with an edged weapon.

The male assailant was shot by police.

Paramedics were called and three people were taken to hospital, one in critical, one in unstable and one in stable condition.

The 27-year-old who had been shot by police died from his injuries.

Manitoba’s police watchdog agency, The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) has taken over the investigation into the shooting.
