Police seize shotgun in high-risk traffic stop

On Thursday evening, April 21, 2022, Winnipeg Police arrested a 22-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding warrants for failing to comply with probation and release orders.

Police say the accused was in a taxi nearSt. Mary’s Road and Broadway when Community Support Unit officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The male was arrested without incident.

During the arrest officers seized a 12-gauge shotgun along with ammunition for it.

Jamie Baker has been charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is unauthorized
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Warrant (Fail to Comply with Probation Order)
  • Warrant (Fail to Comply with Release Order)

Baker was detained in custody.
