Police seize multiple Molotov cocktails from Redwood Avenue residence

Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) responded to a Redwood Avenue residence after learning multiple Molotov cocktails were stored in the building.

Police say officers arrived at the home in the 400 block minutes after 5:00 pm on August 18, 2023. As they approached the property they could smell a strong order of kerosene. Officers found four Molotov cocktails and an additional amount of kerosene. A 34-year-old man was taken into custody.

The WPS Bomb Unit responded to the residence and safely removed the explosives from the property.

Brendan Hines has been charged for his alleged involvement with four counts of Unlawful Possession of Explosives and four counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order.

He was detained in custody.
