Police seize 19 firearms during trafficking investigation

Winnipeg Police Firearms Investigative Enforcement Unit along with members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Unit and National Weapons Enforcement and Support Team executed a search warrant on an Agassiz Drive home as part of an ongoing firearms trafficking investigation.

A 22-year-old male was arrested and charged after officers seized 19 firearms including three 9mm handguns, a .45 calibre handgun, a .22 calibre rifle, a 5.56 calibre rifle, a prohibited AR-10 variant .308 rifle. Police also seized four air guns.

A few days later a 23-year-old male turned himself into Winnipeg police and was also charged in connection to the case.

Both males face multiple charges for their alleged involvement including Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

As mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada both accused were released on Undertakings.
