Winnipeg Police are looking for a 30-year-old female suspect in connection to the murder of 45-year-old Deena Anne Markwick on August 16, 2021.
Markwick was suffering with sever gunshot wounds when police found her around 2;00 am on Young Street. She was taken to hospital where she died shortly afterwards.
Police say that a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Laura Fay Buboire. She is wanted for Second Degree Murder, Armed Robbery using a Firearm, Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order and Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.
Buboire is described as an Indigenous female standing 5’4″ tall and weighing about 134 pounds with a medium build. She has green eyes and may have brown or red hair.
