Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) is investigating a home invasion in Sandy Bay First Nation on January 3, 2024.
According to police, officers responded to a home on Center Road within the community following a 911 hang-up call. When police arrived they found a male suffering from facial injuries and the effects of bear spray.
Investigating officers learned that multiple suspects had entered the home and assaulted the victim. The suspects had firearms and used bear spray as they entered. A fire was set in the residence by the suspects before they fled the scene. The fire was quickly put out.
Paramedics were called to the residence and treated the victim on site.
