Winnipeg police are warning the public about an assault on a middle-school-age female on Sunday evening, July 24, 2022, near the Grace Hospital.
Police say that the girl was walking in the neighbourhood with her service dog on Meadowlark Place when an unknown man approached, grabbed her arm and began to pull her towards the street. The male refused to let go of the girl after she told him to stop. The suspect then kicked the dog in the body. The girl was able to free herself from the male by punching him and screaming.
The victim’s mother was within hearing distance and brought her daughter home to safety. The suspect was seen running away towards the Grace Hospital. The victim received a minor injury but did not require medical attention.
The suspect is described as:

- wearing black pants with white stripes down the sides, black shoes with white/grey soles, and a black jacket with grey and white on the sleeves
- black balaclava with a black mask covering the mouth area (forming a triangle at the bottom below the chin)
