Winnipeg police had the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Panet Road closed overnight into Sunday afternoon as they investigated what they are calling a “suspicious incident”.

Just after 1:30 am emergency crews were called to the area for a report of an injured man in the middle of the road.

The 43-year-old man was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.

Investigators from the Traffic Unit have determined that the man might have been a victim of a hit and run but they do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The intersection opened in all directions to traffic just before 12:45 pm
