Just after 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023, Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of Carlton Street with more than a dozen police vehicles including the Tactical Support Team.
When officers arrived on the scene they found an injured man sitting on the boulevard with what appeared to be a head injury. Officers and firefighter/paramedics treated the man who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
More than 20 general patrol officers and Tactical Support Team members went inside a nearby apartment building. Residents of the Manitoba Housing building told News4 that the officers had gone to the tenth floor of the building.
News 4 reached out to Winnipeg police for more information. In an emailed response Public Information Officer Claude Chancy said “Information on the incident cannot be provided at this time.” He indicated that police may be releasing more information about the incident on Monday.
