Police release more details surrounding raid on magic mushroom shop

Winnipeg Police Service has released more information abut the raid on a retail outlet on Osborne Street that was selling magic mushrooms (psilocybin).

Investigators identified two individuals in connection to the operation and executed search warrants at the business and at a residence on Waterfront Drive. Police also had a warrant to search a vehicle associated with the suspects.

The two suspects were inside the business when officers arrived and were placed into custody.

During the search of the properties and vehicle police found:

  • 13-gram bags of Psilocybin x 39
  • Approximately 260 grams of loose Psilocybin
  • Various Edible products and capsules
  • 2018 Mercedes Benz CLA250 4MATIC
  • Electronics (cellular phones/laptop)
  • Bank Machine
  • Score Sheets
  • Scale
  • Packaging Materials
  • Approximately $16,600 in currency

The male and female suspects, both 37 were charged for their alleged involvement with two counts of Traffic in Scheduled Substance – Psilocybin, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Psilocybin and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Police released both suspects on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
