Winnipeg Police Service has released more information on a pursuit and arrest on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
According to police, officers responded to a commercial robbery at a grocery store in the 900 block of Henderson Highway around 9:00 p.m. A store employee tried to stop a man and a woman who had stolen items from the business but the suspects used bear spray on the staff while fleeing. The suspects fled in a stolen Dodge Caravan. No injuries were reported.
As News4.ca first reported the stolen vehicle was seen travelling northbound on Salter Street shortly after the incident at an extremely high rate of speed with police close behind. Air1 tracked the vehicle as it wound through the area for about 20 minutes before heading westbound on Inkster where patrol vehicles were able to box it in and end the pursuit.

Tony Prince, 31 has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
- Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited Pursuant to Federal or Provincial Act
Prince was detained in custody.
The second suspect, a 29-year-old woman has been charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. She was released on an Undertaking.
